Fred Burgesen has been working with wood most of his life. He worked with his father as a child. He was a custom home builder for 25 years. He has a fully stocked wood shop and enjoys crafting from his home. He got into live edge wood when he found a hollow log on his farm and the rest is history! He has been retired for over 20 years and loves focusing on his wood craft.
He sources all of his live edge and hollow wood locally, carefully slices and cures the wood before cutting and sanding to his specifications. Each one is then coated in layers of poly resin, bringing out the beautiful color and grain of the wood. Depending on the piece he will also add high quality fabric or 3D elements. Each is one of a kind and UV protected. In addition Fred also hand crafts serving trays. Each frame is expertly assembled and built to last. High quality fabrics are attached and the frames are painted to match or stained. The entire tray is coated in layers of poly resin giving the finished art a high gloss, glass like coating. These are also water and fade resistant.
